The organizers of the annual event have prepared an intensive program what includes express interviews with employers of Saint Petersburg, individual consultations of specialists of the employment service, master classes and trainings.
As part of the event “Labor and employment” was held a press conference dedicated to the results of the year in the field of labor, labor migration and employment of the population of Saint Petersburg.
The press conference was attended by the Chairman of Labor and employment Committee Dmitry Cherneyko, heads of subordinate institutions: the employment Center Julia Gorokhova and Labor resources Center Alexey Chistyakov.
The speakers told about the key indications of the labor market in St. Petersburg, the regulation of the level of migration, summed up the results of the national projects “Demography” and “Labor productivity and employment support” in St. Petersburg, discussed key changes in the implementation of national projects and opportunities to attract participating enterprises for the next year.
Alexey Chistyakov said that the Labor resources center of St. Petersburg is actively looking for workers for urban enterprises in Russian regions, among these people which used shift method of work. They are looking for workers where the unemployment rate is high enough and people are ready to leave, for example in Volgograd, Samara, Rostov-on-don, Pskov. In Samara, Pskov and Volgograd, job fairs were already held and consulting points are working how to find a job in St. Petersburg.
On the site of event worked all day information desk of Labor resources center of St. Petersburg, where representatives of companies answered questions, offered information and referenced materials for job employees and employers, talked about the demand in the labor market of St. Petersburg vacancies, carried out the acceptance of applications for selection of vacancies for applicants and also acceptance of applications from employers about staffing needs.
Representatives of Labor resources center of St. Petersburg took part in a discussion on the topic: “Issues of interaction between employers and educational institutions of St. Petersburg in the field of hospitality and restaurant business”.
Director of this center , Alexey Chistyakov addressed the audience with a welcome speech, noticed the interest of the business community of the hospitality and restaurant businesses, among Saint Petersburg representation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia, to facilitate a debate among students of educational institutions of Saint Petersburg hospitality of the professional skill contest “For us in the profession. The hospitality industry”. He told the participants of the round table about the development in 2019 of an innovative product which was a unique platform for student internships, the Internet portal “Studentor”, which became the first step to use an artificial intelligence systems in career management, targeted recruitment and employment.
Coordinator of urban career oriented competitions “For us in the profession” and the leading inspector of development Department of St. Petersburg of Labor resources Center, Ivan Melekhin held a presentation of the project “Your first step in career” to help students and graduates of educational institutions of St. Petersburg employment and their adaptation in the labor market of St. Petersburg, spoke about the progress and outcome in 2019, among students of educational institutions of Saint Petersburg hospitality two competitions of professional skill “For us in the profession. The hospitality industry”.
Moreover, Labor resources center was presented their projects and activities aimed at promoting the employment of foreign and nonresident citizens and residents of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region (organized set of job fairs in the regions), and also career-oriented events for students and graduates of Universities and colleges (project “Your first step in career”).
